Dalmaclare
Thorne Wyness converted this traditional steading for a young family , blending the existing stone building with larch cladding and white render to create a large and light home with views across Loch Tuath towards the islands of Ulva and Gometra.
The open plan living space occupies the first floor, opening out onto a roof terrace and flanked by clerestory windows. We worked with the existing steading window openings and, where the end gable was in too poor condition to preserve, extended this out towards the view.
